United Way kicks
off campaign

Rallies were held recently celebrating the 46th annual general campaign of the Hawaii Island United Way.

The goal for this year is to raise $1.2 million to support 54 programs provided by 40 partner agencies. Each year, more than 75 percent of Hawaii Island residents benefit from the health and human service programs offered through the Hawaii Island United Way’s partner agencies.

“This year’s theme, Give With Aloha, speaks to the generosity that our island is known for. It’s giving from the heart rather than the pocket, giving above and beyond,” said campaign co-chairman Wally Lau.

The Hawaii Island United Way aims to unite people, organizations and resources to build a healthier community. For more information, contact Jeanine Atebara at 935-6393 or visit hiuw.org.
